The following information is available for Kahului Baptist Church:
On April 22, 1945, the First Baptist Church of Kahului was organized. On July 15, 1945, the name was changed to Kahului Baptist Church. After meeting in various locations throughout Maui, including the Young Men’s Buddhist Hall, a missionary’s residence in Wailuku, three buildings in Naska (near Kanaha), the present building located on Puunene Avenue was dedicated on December 15, 1951. Since its inception, Kahului Baptist Church has had the privilege of beginning (i.e., planting) five missions, all of which have been constituted into independent churches. These five churches are Wailuku Baptist Church (1952), Pukalani Baptist Church (1960), Kihei Baptist Chapel (1977), Maui-Philippine Baptist Church (1989), and Maui First Korean Baptist Church (1990). For many years, the church has also sponsored a preschool to provide a Christian witness to families in the community. The preschool continues to educate many students today. Kahului Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and as such regularly contributes to the SBC’s Cooperative Program.

It’s been a full and fruitful summer! Here’s some pics from our beach camping trip on Lanai! Tent-camping, fellowship, off-roading, skeet shooting, exploring, worshipping, serving, family, connecting, awesome. It was an excellent time! And loved visiting our partner church Lāna‘i Baptist Church!

Kahului Baptist Church is available for anyone evacuating or stuck in central Maui due to the fire. We don’t have cots or showers, but if you just need a place to stay and hangout until the roads open, we have AC, internet, restrooms, water, and general facilities. Feel free to come. War Memorial is open as a shelter with cots, etc. 309 S. Puunene Avenue.

The gospel of Jesus Christ does not promise exemption from the pain & brokenness that plagues families and communities. It promises that for those who repent and believe, one day, the pain and brokenness will come to an end. That's what we will unfold in Revelation 17 tomorrow morning. One of the highlights of camp was fellowshipping, worshipping, and serving with the saints @ Lanai Baptist Church. Join us in praying for them and their faithful work and if you’re in the area, check em out. You’ll be glad you did.
KBC family & friends, please pray for us this week. -Youth camp 2019 is this weekend from Thursday to Monday. Pray for us. -Additionally, we are sending a team out of about 5 people to assist Waiehu Community Church plant this Sunday as well with setup, nursery, and cleanup. -One of our members, Ezekiel Verharst is going to preach as well. Last time he did excellent and this time is sure to be no different. You’ll be able to catch the sermon online afterward. Please pray for him. Much going on.
